Pastor’s Message 

The greatest thing possible for anyone is to have a right relationship with God. This is only possible through Jesus Christ. The greatest desire of the members of Smith Chapel Baptist Church is to make this truth known to everyone. The great theme of our message is the winning of the lost to Jesus Christ. 

After people are saved, it becomes very important to teach them what God expects of them as Children of God. We are seeking to do this through Sunday School, special meetings, Bible preaching, and many other means of getting Bible knowledge into the hearts of the believer.

Statement of Faith

WHAT WE BELIEVE? 

THE BIBLE: We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired “Word of God”. It is the only complete and final revelation of God to man in this day, and is the standard and guide of conduct and action for the believer and the church.  

THE BLOOD: Without the shedding of blood there is no remission (forgiveness) of sin (Heb 9:22).

Even so the Son of man came…to give his life a ransom for many (Mat 20:28). 

THE BLESSED HOPE: This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as yea have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1:11).

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thess 4:16-17). 

THE NEW BIRTH: Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (Jn 3:3).

As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, … Which were born, not of blood, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (Jn 1:12-13).  

Eternal Life of THE BELIEVER:

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life (Jn 3:36)

…and I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand (Jn 10:28).

God Wants You To Know 

That He loves you unconditionally.

For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish (Jn 3:16). 

1. MAN’S PROBLEM. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23).
2. SIN’S PENALTY. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom 6:23).
3. GOD’S PROVISION. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8).
4. MAN’S RESPONSE. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heard that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Rom 10:9).
